Tierra Latina, a Société par Actions Simplifiée (SAS) with a share capital of €7,500, registered with the Paris Commercial and Companies Register under number 807 823 919, with its registered office at 9 rue François Miron, 75004 Paris, is a French travel agency specialising in tailor-made and homestay travel in Latin America since November 2014.

Our primary objective is to achieve 100% satisfaction among our travellers, visitors and clients. The trust you place in our services is a cornerstone of our business. Accordingly, Tierra Latina is committed to respecting the confidentiality and security of the personal and financial information you provide to us. Below, we explain how we collect and use your personal information in order to keep it safe and private.

Our Main Privacy Policy Objectives

At Tierra Latina, we use your information to provide you with the best possible quality of service – but our primary duty is to keep that information secure and to use it in the way you wish. Our main objectives are therefore as follows:

  • To apply security and confidentiality standards in order to keep your information safe;
  • To give authorised employees access to your information for the purposes of communication, service improvement and business management;
  • To share your information with your prior consent with third parties and where you have confirmed your interest in specific services (hotels, activities, cruises, etc.);
  • To allow our travellers to access their private information upon request.

The Information We Collect and Retain

Tierra Latina collects general information. When you send us a request, we typically ask for the following personal details:

  • Name, address, email, telephone numbers, city and country of residence;
  • Information relating to your planned travel: destinations of interest, how many people will be travelling with you, your budget, your travel dates and/or your travel preferences and requirements;
  • Other traveller-related information such as passport details, travel insurance, credit card details and airline tickets. We also collect IP addresses in order to obtain statistics such as the number of visits to our website, the bounce rate, and the location of our visitors. This type of information enables us to offer a personalised service to our clients.

However, we never collect:

  • Sensitive information such as religion, political views, ethnicity or health, unless the services you ask us to provide require it (for example, accessibility for persons with reduced mobility, or access to a medical centre in the event of an emergency during your trip);
  • Personal information relating to children under the age of eighteen, unless we obtain written parental consent and/or unless the services you ask us to provide require it (for example, access for children with disabilities, allergies, etc.).

How We Collect and Retain Your Information

We collect your information using the following methods:

  • Via request forms on our website, written forms at events, or through our social media channels;
  • Via online booking engines on our partners’ websites when you enquire about a programme or wish to obtain a personalised quote (please refer to the ‘Third Parties’ section, which details the list of partners from whom we collect your information);
  • During individual conversations at our events or personalised conversations with our Travel Experts by telephone, mobile or any other messaging technology;
  • From responsible travel organisers who have previously obtained travellers’ approval to pass their personal information to Tierra Latina so that we may offer them the most personalised services;
  • From emails sent by our travellers and/or prospective clients to our contact email address;
  • Via online booking and feedback forms.

Your data is retained for the period necessary for the following purposes:

  • Newsletter and commercial offers: your data is retained for as long as you remain subscribed. You may change this setting at any time and unsubscribe – see the section ‘Removal from our marketing lists or access to your personal information’.
  • Travel quote request and trip completion: your information will be retained for the period necessary to produce your quote and complete your journey.
  • Absence of contact: where no contact has been made by you for a period of five years, we will archive your personal data for a further five years before permanently deleting it.

How We Use Your Information

We collect your information in order to:

  • Identify you, understand your needs and respond to your requests;
  • Keep you informed by sending our newsletter on our latest programmes and promotions;
  • Continuously adapt our offering to your needs;
  • Personalise our communications and improve our product strategy in accordance with your characteristics and preferences;
  • Comply with the law or with any legal authority that requires it;
  • Finalise your booking and provide our partners with the information necessary for your travel: as a travel agent, we provide services on behalf of other suppliers (hotels, transport providers, cruise lines, insurance providers, activity companies).

Third parties are the companies to whom we disclose, or from whom we collect, your personal information, such as:

  • Other legal entities or companies within the Tierra Latina group;
  • Companies that provide Tierra Latina with specific services, including:

IT, computing, email and digital service providers;

Social media platforms or communications agencies;
