When to Go on a Yucatán Road Trip?

The best period for a Yucatán trip runs from November to April, during the dry season. Temperatures are mild (around 28°C), roads are passable and the sea is a limpid blue. Between May and October, tropical rains refresh the landscapes, while sargassum (seaweed) may appear on certain beaches; this is nonetheless the ideal season for observing marine wildlife and experiencing a wilder, more untouched side of the Yucatán.
