This 2-week Peru trip launches you on the trail of the Incas, from Cusco to Machu Picchu, via Lake Titicaca. A Peru stay through the history of a prodigious civilisation!
Peru Trip: Machu Picchu and the Majestic Sacred Valley of the Incas
This 2-week Peru trip takes you through the mythical Sacred Valley of the Incas! Discover the archaeological site of Pisac and one of the most spectacular natural sites in Peru: the Maras Salt Pans. Comprising more than 3,000 pools, this still-active salt production flows down a mountainside from a warm-water spring. Set off also to discover Ollantaytambo and its ancient fortress: the site of a great Inca victory over the Spanish Conquistadors.
Along the way, you meet local communities who show you traditional weaving techniques and teach you the rudiments of the Quechua language. Finally, make your way to the mythical citadel of Machu Picchu: the most celebrated archaeological site on the continent whose magic will leave you breathless!
Voir plus2-Week Peru Circuit: On to Puno and Lake Titicaca
After the Sacred Valley, cross the Peruvian altiplano to reach Puno, the folklore capital of Peru. En route, you discover numerous sites with fascinating landscapes: Raqchi and its famous temple to the god Wiracocha, the village of Andahuaylillas and its ‘Sistine Chapel of Latin America’, the town of Sicuani and Pukara. After this day rich in discovery, you arrive on the shores of Lake Titicaca.
Peru 2 Weeks: Sailing on Lake Titicaca, the Peru–Bolivia Frontier
Lake Titicaca – considered the cradle of Inca civilisation – marks the border between Peru and Bolivia. Set off by boat to discover the islands that dot the world’s highest navigable lake. Do not miss the artificial Uros Islands, built from reed, nor the island of Amantani. You meet communities of Quechua and Aymara families who preserve their ancestral traditions, artisanal fishing and the hunting of wild birds among them. Between human encounters and sublime landscapes, this is a stay that takes you to another world!
This stay can be combined with a trip to Bolivia, all the way to the Salar de Uyuni: the breathtaking salt desert in the heart of the altiplano.
